UPDATED Police are searching the Dover House Road area in Putney following an incident this afternoon.
At approximately 3pm, a police car at the shops at Dover House Road and Upper Richmond Road approached another vehicle – a new red Volvo V60 – which was swiftly abandoned with the driver reportedly making off on foot.

Officers are examining the abandoned vehicle, which is full of boxes, with others searching the area for the driver. A call has been put out to other transport services for help in locating them.
Officers on the scene declined to provide any information and claimed it was “just another boring day in Putney” although they did confirm the search for a driver and the presence of a forensics unit suggests it is anything but routine.
