Putney.news is published by Modern Standard Media Ltd (company number 15767979). We are committed to accurate, fair and accountable journalism, and we work to the standards set out in the IMPRESS Standards Code.
We maintain human editorial oversight of everything we publish: a person reviews and takes responsibility for every story before it goes live. Where we publish an image generated using artificial intelligence, it carries a visible watermark identifying it as such.
If you believe we have fallen short of these standards and wish to make a complaint, please follow the steps below.
How to make a complaint
Please submit your complaint in writing to the editor at editor@putney.news, including:
- The name and date of the publication, and the specific article in question.
- The URL of the article, and a link to any image or video, if possible.
- A detailed description of your complaint, referring to the specific words, phrases, images, instances, dates or records that are relevant, and explaining how you believe we have fallen short.
You can also use our Contact Form to make a comment or complaints on a story.
Who can complain
- Complaints must be made on behalf of a named individual. This includes complaints involving businesses and organisations.
- When you submit a complaint, please provide your full name, address, phone number and email address.
What you can complain about
- You can complain about any article we have published, online or in print, including words, images, and audio or video content.
- You can also complain about the conduct of an individual journalist or member of staff.
Time limit
- Complaints should be made within four months of publication.
- We will aim to respond within 21 calendar days.
How we handle your complaint
- We will confirm we have received your complaint within three working days, by email.
- Your complaint will be handled by the editor.
- The editor will investigate your complaint against the IMPRESS Standards Code and respond to you.
- If we uphold your complaint, we will tell you what we have done, or will do, to put it right.
- If you are not satisfied with our response, your complaint may be referred to independent arbitration.
