25-year-old appears in court after ‘Ren’ dies following shocking broad daylight stabbing in Wandsworth.

A 25-year-old man appeared in court on Monday charged with the murder of teenager Rinneau Perrineau, who died after being stabbed in Wandsworth last week.

Muhammed Cabdiqaadir, of Hope Street, Wandsworth, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court charged with murder and possession of a bladed object.

Rinneau Perrineau, 19, known as “Ren” to his family and friends, was attacked on Lavender Hill at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, 21 October. Paramedics treated him at the scene for stab wounds before taking him to hospital, where he died on Friday.

In a statement, Rinneau’s family said: “Ren was loved by many, he was always around his family. He will be dearly missed.”

The family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Cabdiqaadir was arrested on Saturday, 25 October and charged the following day.

A second man, aged 23, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday but has since been released on bail. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police have described the incident as isolated. Floral tributes have been left at the scene, including tealights spelling out the name “Ren”.

Acting Borough Commander Amanda Mawhinney said: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this terrible time. This was a shocking crime committed in broad daylight. A teenager’s life was taken, and his family and friends have suffered an irrevocable loss.

“Our officers are making every effort to bring those responsible to justice.”

The nearby Beauchamp Road and an adjoining street were cordoned off for several hours following the stabbing.
