The Putney Arts has reached its funding goal for new lights thanks to a generous donation – just in time for the launch of its summer season.
In a letter to members and supports, the local theatre on Upper Richmond Road, revealed that The Gosling Foundation had chipped in to complete is fundraising “Let There Be Light” campaign and as a result “we are well on our way to completing our final order for new lights.”
The theatre will now buy 12 professional quality spotlights – Coloursource Profile Spots if you want to know the full spec – and as a thank you to the Gosling Foundation, a charity that stems from the Royal Navy and focuses on youth and education, will call them the “goslings”.
Our new lighting stock will enhance all the work we deliver for young people, our productions overall and help us to reduce our energy use

The news comes as the theatre has put out details of its summer season starting later this month.
The Agatha Christie play Go Back for Murder will run as part of the larger Wandsworth Arts Fringe from 18-22 June, followed by a special two-nights-only music revue to celebrate 60 years of the theatre at the end of the month.
And then, from the end of July until early August, Putney Arts Theatre will host its own mini Edinburgh Festival with a series of short plays across eight days, covering everything from comedy to drama to family entertainment.
All of it lit to perfection.
