Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators Annual Open Meeting 2026

The Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators (WPCC) hold their Annual Open Meeting on Monday 22 June 2026, inviting levy-payers and the wider community to hear reports from the Board and ask questions of the Conservators and senior officers. The meeting is held in accordance with the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Act 1871.
The meeting takes place at St John the Baptist Church, Robin Hood Lane, Kingston Vale, London SW15 3PY. Conservators and staff will be available from 7.30pm for informal conversation, with the formal proceedings starting at 8.00pm.
This year’s agenda includes the Chairman’s Report from Mauro Mattiuzzo, a presentation on the audited Financial Statements for the year ended 31 March 2026 by Conservator David Brown, the Chief Executive’s Report from Colin Cooper, and a Conservation Report from Oliver Bennett MBE. Sue Bucknall will also give an update on the Friends of Wimbledon and Putney Commons, followed by a general discussion and questions session.
The annual report covers a year of financial consolidation, with the charity recording a modest operating loss on unrestricted funds, offset by strong fundraising including an emergency campaign following lightning damage to the Grade II* listed Wimbledon Windmill in July 2025. There is also an update on the long-awaited rebasing of the Conservators’ levy, now approved in principle by DEFRA, though still awaiting a statutory instrument before taking effect. The next triennial election for five elected Conservators is expected in 2027.
Questions may be submitted in advance by email to rangersoffice@wpcc.org.uk. Refreshments will be available on the night.
The church is on Robin Hood Lane, Kingston Vale, SW15 3PY, close to the junction with Kingston Vale. Bus routes 85 and K3 serve the area.
