Riverside Studios at 50: Dame Helen Mirren in Conversation

One of Britain’s most celebrated actors returns to the stage where her London journey began. Dame Helen Mirren in Conversation is a very special fundraising event taking place at Riverside Studios, Hammersmith, on Sunday 15 March 2026 at 3:30pm, as part of the venue’s landmark 50th anniversary season.

Dame Helen Mirren will be in conversation with acclaimed director and producer Simon Curtis, whose credits include The Woman in Gold, My Week with Marilyn, and Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale. Together they will explore Helen Mirren’s extraordinary life and career — from her early years with the Royal Shakespeare Company to becoming one of the world’s most decorated stars.

The connection between Dame Helen and Riverside Studios runs deep. In 1979, she starred at the venue to great critical acclaim in Peter Gill’s celebrated production of Measure for Measure. Since then she has accumulated an astonishing array of honours: an Academy Award for The Queen, three BAFTAs, six Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes, an Olivier Award, a Tony Award, and a Damehood. Her film credits span The Long Good Friday, Excalibur, The Mosquito Coast, and the landmark television drama Prime Suspect, among many others.

This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from a true icon of stage and screen. Audiences will have the opportunity to submit questions in advance for Dame Helen to consider during the event.
