Mariesa Dulak: Tigers, Trains and Crocodiles at Wimbledon BookFest

Award-winning children’s author Mariesa Dulak brings There’s a Tiger on the Train to Wimbledon BookFest on Saturday 17 October at 10am, in a 45-minute morning session for children aged 3 and over at Merton Arts Space in Wimbledon Library, SW19.
The session mixes story time with nursery rhymes, animal actions and sing-alongs, and finishes with a dance. There’s a Tiger on the Train won the FAB Prize and The Week Junior Award for Best Picture Book of the Year.
It is one of four children’s events in the opening weekend of the festival, which runs from 15 to 25 October across Wimbledon. Families from Southfields, Wimbledon Park and Putney can pair it with Chris Riddell’s illustration session at 11.30am the same morning.
Tickets: £10, under-12s £7.50, plus a £3.50 booking fee per order. A limited number of free tickets is available to residents of CR4, CR7, SM3 and SM4 (two per household). Book through the Wimbledon BookFest website.
Getting there: Merton Arts Space is inside Wimbledon Library, with its entrance on Compton Road, SW19. Wimbledon station (District line, National Rail and Tramlink) is a short walk away.
