Ed Vere: Waffles & Julius at Wimbledon BookFest
Award-winning author and illustrator Ed Vere hosts a 45-minute story-time session for children aged 3 and over at Wimbledon BookFest on Sunday 18 October at 10am, at Merton Arts Space in Wimbledon Library, SW19.
The session celebrates his new picture book Waffles & Julius, about friendship and respecting each other’s differences: Waffles would very much like a hug, and Julius would rather not just now. Ed Vere then shows children how to draw the two characters in a sketch-along.
Rob Biddulph’s drawalong follows at 11.30am the same morning, so families from Putney, Southfields and Wimbledon Park can make a morning of it.
Tickets: £10, under-12s £7.50, plus a £3.50 booking fee per order. A limited number of free tickets is available to residents of CR4, CR7, SM3 and SM4 (two per household). Book through the Wimbledon BookFest website.
Getting there: Merton Arts Space is inside Wimbledon Library, with its entrance on Compton Road, SW19. Wimbledon station (District line, National Rail and Tramlink) is a short walk away.
