Putney is paying the highest petrol prices in the country

Putney is paying the highest petrol prices in the country: an average of 141.7p a litre.

According to data produced by Law Trucks in its ‘Fuel Price Report‘, Wandsworth is the most expensive place to get petrol across the capital. And within Wandsworth, Putney is more expensive than either Battersea or Tooting.

At the time of writing, the Sainsbury’s on Lower Richmond Road is charging 142.9p for Unleaded, and the Shell garage by Lytton Grove is 143.9p!

It’s a similar picture across south-west London, with Merton coming second at 140.8p; Kingston third with 139.9p and Richmond fourth with 138.9p. We’re also the most expensive in the UK, with Cambridge averaging out at 138.9p, followed by Brighton at 137.9p and then Bedford at 136.9p.

It that wasn’t bad enough, Putney’s appalling traffic problems mean we are literally burning through money as we sit in traffic thanks to council traffic schemes and the still-unopened Hammersmith Bridge.
