Wandsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant Chez Bruce has made it into the Top 100 restaurants in the UK, one of just six restaurants in south London to make the cut.
The National Restaurant Awards are given to the very best restaurants across the nation and are decided by a panel of over 200 experts from the food industry, including writers, chefs and restauranteurs.
Chez Bruce, which offers classic French cuisine made using traditional techniques, came 70 in a list that was, as usual, dominated by London restaurants: 50 of the 100 are in the capital.

The restaurant was opened next to Wandsworth Common by chef Bruce Poole back in 1995 and has served delicious food to generations of Wandsworth-ites – albeit with a hefty price tag (£67.50 a head for lunch; £85 for dinner).
The restaurant’s classic approach has allowed for its longevity – a remarkable feat considering that London remains one of the most competitive markets for fine dining in the world. It also boasts and extraordinary wine list – something that Michelin guide calls “interesting.’

From the famous French guide: “Restaurants offering a standard of cooking this high for over 20 years are few and far between, and the numerous regulars of this smart, friendly neighbourhood spot are a testament to its perennial popularity. The reasonably priced menu features traditional, carefully prepared dishes that showcase quality seasonal produce.
“The wine list is skilfully chosen and features some well-priced rare wines, with an interesting selection by the glass, while a corkage option allows guests to bring a bottle from their own cellar.”
Bravo, Chez Bruce.
