The Veteran Fours Head

The Veteran Fours Head is the masters’ turn on the Championship Course: coxed fours, coxless fours and quad sculls in age categories from Masters A to K, for open, women’s and mixed crews, racing against the clock from Mortlake to Putney. The provisional start time is 1.30pm, the day after The Fours Head.

Capacity has been raised this year from 260 to 280 crews, and entries closed oversubscribed. Putney host clubs include Barn Elms, Imperial College, London, Thames and Vesta, and crews boating from Putney collect their race numbers at Vesta. Events with three or more crews race for medals.

Suitable for: All ages. Free to watch from the riverside.

Accessibility: Viewing is from the public riverside at Putney Embankment. Expect crowds, crews carrying boats and boat trailers on the embankment on race day.

Booking: No booking or tickets needed for spectators. The 1.30pm start is provisional until the organisers publish the start order.
