The Putney Library Film Club will be showing the biography of legendary singer Tina Turner, Tina – What’s Love Got To Do With It.
Based on her 1986 autobiography, this 1993 film stars Angela Bassett as Tina and Laurence Fishburne as her abusive husband, and music partner, Ike Turner.
The film was a critical and commercial success and resulted in Best Actor Oscar nominations for both Bassett and Fishburne. Bassett won the Golden Globe for her depiction of Turner.
