Moving Stories
Age UK Wandsworth, working with Happy Homes Community and the Wandsworth Asian Women’s Association, runs a new creative health programme for older South Asian residents, combining storytelling, music and accessible movement inspired by Bollywood, folk and classical traditions. No dance experience is needed and every session can be adapted for seated or standing participation.
Through conversation, music, photographs and personal objects, participants share memories from across their lives — family, celebration, migration, community and home — which a movement facilitator then helps translate into gentle, guided movement.
