An industrial heritage walk along the Wandle Trail from Colliers Wood station to Earlsfield, taking in Merton Mill (later Connolly Bros leather works), Paxton’s patent leather works, Wandle Nature Park, the Old Coppermill near the AFC Wimbledon stadium, the Corruganza works where the trade union activist Mary Macarthur supported a group of striking women and girls in 1908, and Garratt Mills, which made gunpowder for the 17th century Anglo-Dutch wars.
Organised by the Wandle Industrial Museum as part of Wandle Fortnight 2026. Meet at Colliers Wood station, SW19 2HR, at 12pm. Children welcome.
