Carnival Roots – Roehampton Celebrates

Ascend and Bloom CIC brings a free community carnival to Focus Hall, celebrating Black history, Caribbean culture and the roots of Notting Hill Carnival. UK Small Band Panorama 2026 competition winners Pan Nation headline a live steel pan performance, alongside a carnival costume photobooth, a carnival-style dance workshop and craft-making session.

There is also a mini jou’vert, Caribbean food, soca music and face painting, pitched as a whole-family event where visitors can join as many or as few activities as they like.

Suitable for: All ages

Accessibility: Mostly visual. The jou’vert activity uses paint and is optional – bring a spare t-shirt if taking part.
