Alison McWhirter at The Russell Gallery

A solo show of new work by Alison McWhirter, one of Scotland’s leading young colourists, at the Russell Gallery in Putney. McWhirter paints abstracted still lifes and flower studies — many grown in her own garden in Dumfries — in thick oil impasto, taking her cues from poetry and music as much as from the subject in front of her.
