Can’t cook, or just don’t have the time to? During a busy week, lunch can be the last thing on your mind. Whether you’re looking for a quick fix or a slower midday break, we scouted out the lunch deals on offer in Putney, so you can save some pennies without settling for the same sad supermarket sandwich. Here’s what we found:
Adada Cafe
118A Upper Richmond Rd, London SW15 2SP
First on our list is the unassuming cafe located halfway down Upper Richmond Road, easy to miss unless you’re lured in by the delicious smell.
For a couple more pounds than your usual supermarket meal deal, Adada offers two deals perfect for lunchtime.
For £6.50, you can grab up to five of their fresh salads, which change daily. If salad alone isn’t enough to fill you up, you can grab a sandwich with a choice of three salads for £8.95.
It’s the cheapest deal on our list and perfect for those in a hurry, or anyone wanting to get the best bang for their buck.
Octagreen
85 Putney High St, London SW15 1SR

A High Street staple since 2022, Octagreen is a good middle ground for people craving a fresh, healthy meal but with little time (or energy) to cook.
Their regular offer includes three salads for £9.90, or a combo of one main and two salads. For £13.90, you can choose up to five salads, or two mains and three salads.
Recent reviews highlight the tasty food, homely feel and charming staff. You can sit in or takeaway, depending on how much time you have to spare.
Franco Manca
28 Putney High St, London SW15 1SQ

For those craving pizza, Franco Manca have recently launched their weekday lunch offer: a pizza and soft drink combo for £12.50, available Monday to Friday. The choice of pizza is limited to Margherita, Prosciutto and Funghi, Napoli and Chorizo, but there’s still enough variety to suit every taste.
While the initial pizza and soft drink combo might not feel like a massive bargain, they also offer the option to ‘add a bite or dessert’ for £2.50, upgrading your lunch to a two-course meal. At £15, we think that doesn’t sound half bad.
Pata Negra
141 Upper Richmond Rd, London SW15 2TX

Next up we have the Putney institution that is Pata Negra. We covered their lunch deal earlier this year and, with a two-course meal for £15, concluded that it might just be the best lunch bargain in Putney.
Choose between two starters and three mains, all cooked in the kitchen tucked in the back of the room by the restaurant’s server, chef and owner, Pepe.
Gazette
147 Upper Richmond Rd, London SW15 2TX

If you’re taking a page out of the French playbook and fancy a long lunch, Gazette offers a ‘Petit lunch à Putney’ at £20 for two courses or £24 for three courses from their set menu.
Choose between bruschetta or courgette soup to start, followed by salmon or roast aubergine as your main. And, if you have room for dessert, there’s goat cheese on tartine or vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce and Chantilly cream.
It’s on the more expensive side compared with some of the other lunch offers in the neighbourhood but makes for a nice treat when you have a little more time to spare.
These are some of the lunch deals we found but let us know if there’s a place we’ve overlooked or if you know of any other hidden lunch bargains in Putney.
