The Gasping Poets of Wandsworth: 5 Hours of Poetry Recitals

The Gasping Poets of Wandsworth are proud to present five hours of poetry recitals at Putney Library’s Meeting Hall on Saturday 21st March 2026, running from 12pm to 5pm.
Organised as part of Wandsworth London Borough of Culture, this unique fundraising event brings together local poets for a marathon afternoon of spoken word, performance poetry, and literary celebration in the heart of SW15.
One-hour time slots are available, meaning you can drop in for just an hour or stay for the entire five-hour programme — the choice is yours. All are warmly welcome to attend.
All proceeds from the event go directly to the Wandsworth Carers’ Centre, a vital local charity supporting unpaid carers across the borough. Your ticket purchase and donations make a real difference to carers in the Wandsworth and Putney community.
The Gasping Poets of Wandsworth are a vibrant collective of local poets based in the London Borough of Wandsworth. Supported by the Wandsworth Borough of Culture programme, they bring the power of poetry to community spaces across SW15, SW18, and SW19.
Whether you are a poetry enthusiast, a supporter of local arts, or simply curious about the spoken word scene in Putney and Wandsworth, this is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live performance poetry while supporting an excellent cause.
