Estevao magic sends statement to Europe as Chelsea destroy Barcelona
Chelsea FC – UEFA Champions League Chelsea 3-0 Barcelona (Stamford Bridge) – Tuesday, 25 November
Eighteen-year-old Estevao announced himself on the grandest stage with a goal that will be replayed for years, mesmerising two Barcelona defenders before rifling an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net as Chelsea dismantled the Spanish champions. The Brazilian wonderkid, making just his third Champions League start, became only the third teenager after Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to score in each of his first three starts in the competition.
The rout began when Jules Kounde turned into his own net under pressure from Pedro Neto’s strike, and Barcelona’s evening unravelled completely when captain Ronald Araujo received a second yellow card for a reckless challenge on the outstanding Marc Cucurella. Liam Delap came off the bench to add the third, finishing tidily from Enzo Fernandez’s precise centre. A capacity Stamford Bridge crowd of 39,323 witnessed what manager Enzo Maresca called “the best 90 minutes from this rapidly improving team in my 18 months in the job.”
Ten-man Chelsea defy leaders in fiery London derby
Chelsea FC – Premier League Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal (Stamford Bridge) – Sunday, 30 November
Chelsea’s remarkable week at Stamford Bridge ended with a point that felt like a victory as the ten-man Blues held Premier League leaders Arsenal to a fiery 1-1 draw. Moises Caicedo’s reckless studs-up challenge on Mikel Merino saw his yellow card upgraded to red following a VAR review, leaving Chelsea a man down for over 50 minutes against the league’s dominant force.
Yet it was the hosts who struck first. Three minutes after the restart, Trevoh Chalobah rose at the near post to glance Reece James’ inch-perfect corner into the far corner, sending Stamford Bridge into raptures. Arsenal’s response came through their aerial specialist Merino, who powered home Bukayo Saka’s whipped cross to equalise on 59 minutes. Robert Sanchez produced crucial late saves to deny Saka and Merino as Chelsea’s dogged resistance held firm. The draw cuts Arsenal’s lead to five points over Manchester City, with Chelsea a further point back in third.
Six-minute blitz punishes shambolic Spurs as Fulham claim historic win
Fulham FC – Premier League Tottenham 1-2 Fulham (Tottenham Hotspur Stadium) – Saturday, 29 November
Fulham inflicted fresh misery on Thomas Frank’s Tottenham with a devastating start that saw the Cottagers two goals ahead inside six minutes, condemning Spurs to their tenth home defeat of 2025 – equalling their worst calendar year on record. Kenny Tete opened the scoring after just four minutes when his low drive deflected off Destiny Udogie, before goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario gifted the visitors a second with a moment of madness that will haunt him.
Racing off his line to clear a long ball, Vicario’s panicked clearance fell straight to Harry Wilson, who bent a magnificent strike into the unguarded net. The Italian stopper was booed by sections of his own supporters – a damning indictment of Spurs’ home struggles. Mohammed Kudus’ thunderous volley after the break gave the hosts hope, but Joachim Andersen and Fulham’s defence held firm for their first away win of the season and just their second in 20 away league meetings with their London rivals.
Six-goal thriller at Huddersfield as Dons claim dramatic point
AFC Wimbledon – League One Huddersfield 3-3 AFC Wimbledon (John Smith’s Stadium) – Saturday, 29 November
AFC Wimbledon fought back from conceding three times to secure a valuable point in a breathless encounter at the John Smith’s Stadium that showcased their remarkable resilience in their first season back in League One. The Dons led three separate times through Marcus Browne, Danilo Orsi and Ryan Johnson, only to be pegged back on each occasion by a Huddersfield side searching for their own identity under pressure.
Former Wimbledon academy product Leo Castledine equalised for the hosts immediately after half-time, and when former Dons goalkeeper Owen Goodman parried a straightforward free-kick, Orsi pounced for a tap-in that should have sealed victory. But Huddersfield refused to yield, with Ben Wiles heading home and Alfie May capitalising on a late rebound to rescue a draw. With both sides locked on 25 points and separated only by goal difference, this result leaves them tied eighth and ninth in the table.

Harlequins suffer at Kingsholm as Gloucester claim first win
Harlequins – Gallagher Premiership Gloucester 26-15 Harlequins (Kingsholm) – Saturday, 29 November
A moment of madness from wing Rodrigo Isgro proved the catalyst for Gloucester’s breakthrough as they claimed their first Premiership victory of the season at the sixth attempt. The Argentine, playing his first match after the autumn internationals, inexplicably launched a wild clearance from deep inside his own 22 that landed straight in the grateful arms of Lewis Ludlow, who crossed for a try that swung momentum decisively in the hosts’ favour.
Full-back Ben Redshaw stole the show with two tries as milestone men Ludlow (250th Gloucester appearance) and Ollie Thorley (150th) were honoured with a memorable victory. England fly-half Marcus Smith endured a frustrating afternoon for Quins, whose defence could not contain Gloucester’s renewed confidence. Cadan Murley and captain Alex Dombrandt scored for the visitors, but it was not enough to prevent a defeat that leaves Quins searching for consistency after a disrupted autumn.
