The future of Glenthorne Properties’ famous Easter window displays is uncertain following the agency’s acquisition by property group Lomond, which announced the deal on Wednesday.

The Putney-based lettings specialist, known locally for its seasonal window displays at its flagship branch on Lower Richmond Road, will be consolidated into Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward, Lomond’s main London brand. Founder and director Stephen Giddings plans to step back from the property sector following the integration.

Glenthorne Properties was established nearly 40 years ago by Giddings with a focus on professionalising the lettings market. The company specialised in residential lettings and built long-term client relationships across southwest London.

Since January, Lomond has acquired Chase Evans, Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward, Hamnett & Ganpot, Vantage and Draker, bringing the group’s 2025 London acquisitions to six properties.

John Ennis, chief revenue officer at Lomond, said: “The long, shared histories of these two businesses, that have evolved as local market specialists since their establishment decades ago, make KFH a natural home for Glenthorne and its clients’ next phase of life, and we look forward to incorporating them in the coming weeks.”

Giddings commented:

“After many happy years servicing the best interests of our clients across the south west, it’s my pleasure to pass the baton to a business that has both the people and the technological robustness to navigate the evolving private rented sector.”

The acquisition comes as KFH already operates multiple locations in the Putney area, including an office also on Lower Richmond Road and another on Putney High Street. The consolidation is expected to complete within the coming weeks, according to Lomond’s statement.

Glenthorne Properties has been known locally for its seasonal window displays, particularly at Easter. The fate of the straw bunnies under the new ownership structure was not addressed in Wednesday’s announcement.
