Fulham’s finest yet? A record-breaking season with one eye on what’s next

2024-5 Season review for Fulham. A great year but it could so easily have been better.

54 points. Eleventh in the Premier League. Giant-killings, derby glories, cup drama and a new Riverside stand finally rising on the Thames. Fulham’s 2024/25 season was, statistically and emotionally, its best in the modern top-flight era — but the lingering feeling among fans is unmistakable: we could’ve gone further.

A Season of Records, Risks and Redemption

Fulham’s final tally — 15 wins, 9 draws, 14 losses — eclipsed all previous Premier League efforts. Head Coach Marco Silva called it a year of “immense satisfaction,” crediting the team’s “character, aggressiveness and desire” after a thrilling final win at Brentford sealed the record points haul.

Chairman Shahid Khan summed it up simply: “While 54 points is undoubtedly impressive, we want to play for trophies.” The ambitions have shifted. Fulham isn’t looking to survive anymore — it’s building to belong.

And the numbers back that up. Fulham beat champions Liverpool 3–2 in one of the best nights Craven Cottage has seen, and knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup at Old Trafford on penalties. They also did the double over Brentford and won at Stamford Bridge — derbies that will live long in West London memory.

Player of the Season: Fans Back Antonee Robinson

In a fan vote conducted ahead of the final weekend, the clear favourite was Antonee Robinson, who picked up 36% of the vote, ahead of Calvin Bassey (30%) and Alex Iwobi (17%).

Robinson’s consistency, pace, and work rate stood out all season. He earned US Men’s National Player of the Year and matched a club assist record — and perhaps more than anyone, symbolised the team’s reliability from week to week.

Silva called the season “more about the team than individuals,” but still gave a special nod to Tom Cairney — club captain, 10 years a Fulham man, and scorer of the equaliser in that final Brentford comeback.

The Lows: Frustrating Slips and a Lost European Dream

For all the glory, Fulham dropped a league-leading 28 points from winning positions — the difference between 11th and European qualification.

In the FA Cup, after dumping out Manchester United, Fulham faltered in the quarter-finals — a missed opportunity that still stings.

Losses to struggling sides like Everton and drawing with teams at the bottom of the league frustrated fans and punctured momentum just as belief was starting to build. In truth, the league table flatters to deceive — Fulham finished below Bournemouth and Brentford, sides they outplayed over the season.

Looking Ahead: Big Summer, Big Questions

Silva has remained coy about his long-term future. “We’ll work closely with Marco Silva this summer,” Khan promised, “to back and complement this exceptional group of players.”

But with suitors circling, Fulham must prepare for every possibility. Four senior players — Cairney, Willian, Carlos Vinícius and Kenny Tete — are out of contract. Recruitment will be crucial, especially in creative midfield and at full-back.

Off the pitch, Khan confirmed the official opening of the new Riverside Stand and Fulham Pier will take place 20–22 June — a weekend of celebration to mark a new chapter in Fulham’s history.

Verdict: The Best Yet — But Only the Beginning?

This was a season of progress. Of pride. Of proof that Fulham can mix it with the best. The squad has evolved. The fanbase is buzzing. And Craven Cottage, with its new riverside crown, is ready for the next step.

But for Fulham to take that next step — Europe, trophies, consistent top-half finishes — they must fix the details, keep Silva (or plan brilliantly without him), and back ambition with bold moves.

So yes — our best Premier League season yet in terms of points, if not position. But let’s not stop here.
