SPORTS WEEKEND PREVIEW
NEWS IN BRIEF
Bradley discharged from hospital following serious injury

Fulham Women captain Jade Bradley was discharged from hospital on Sunday and will have the full support of the club as she begins her recovery, the club announced. Bradley suffered a serious leg injury during Saturday’s dramatic 3-2 victory over Norwich that required 25 minutes of on-field treatment and an ambulance. The match was suspended as teammates and opponents processed the harrowing scene before Hannah Mackenzie headed a 96th-minute winner that sent Fulham to the top of Division One South-East. Fulham thanked Norwich City, their coaching and medical staff for their assistance in treating Bradley during the incident.
JADE BRADLEY
Midfielder
Jade Bradley’s journey to the Fulham captaincy took her through Reading’s academy, Portsmouth (where she captained for over a year), AFC Bournemouth, Queens Park Rangers, and three seasons at Watford before joining Fulham last February. The experienced midfielder immediately assumed the captain’s armband and has led the Cottagers to the top of Division One South-East.

Bradley came through the academy at Reading, who compete in the WSL (Tier 1). She memorably scored in Portsmouth’s 2019 Hampshire Cup final victory. Her sister gave birth to a niece on Bradley’s 29th birthday (27 December 2025) during the winter break, creating what Bradley described as “all hectic” family celebrations in Orpington.
Fulham’s Etihad ordeal continues historic losing streak

Fulham extended their winless run against Manchester City to 17 Premier League matches with a 3-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night. The defeat leaves Marco Silva’s side 12th with 34 points – their eighth away loss already matching last season’s total with three months of the season remaining.
Six Nations enters critical second round

England travel to Murrayfield to face Scotland on Saturday (4:40pm) in the Calcutta Cup, while Wales welcome France to Cardiff on Sunday (3:10pm) as the Six Nations reaches a crucial juncture. Both matches carry significant implications for the championship race following opening weekend results that saw France defeat Ireland and England demolish Wales 48-7 at Twickenham.

WHAT TO WATCH
AFC Wimbledon seek away day improvement: The Dons travel to Barnsley on Friday night (3pm) looking to address their League One form. Currently 14th in the table, Johnnie Jackson’s side need points to push clear of mid-table and build momentum in the second half of the campaign.
Fulham face Stoke test after midweek mauling: Marco Silva’s side must regroup quickly from their Etihad humbling, traveling to the Potteries on Sunday with a chance to reach the FA Cup fifth round. The Cottagers’ woeful away form (eight defeats already) needs addressing, though cup football offers a fresh slate against Championship opposition.
Chelsea return to Hull: New Blues boss Liam Rosenior makes an emotional return to his former club on Friday night as Chelsea visit the MKM Stadium. Following their impressive form under Rosenior, Chelsea will be favorites to progress, but cup football at Hull promises atmosphere and intensity.
England’s Murrayfield challenge: Scotland host England at Murrayfield on Saturday (4:40pm) in the Calcutta Cup, one of rugby’s oldest rivalries. After England’s demolition of Wales last weekend, they face a tougher test against Scotland on their home turf in a match that could define both teams’ championship ambitions.
