DESCRIPTION:Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra will take centre stage for an afternoon of music. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n The master of boogie woogie and his exceptional orchestra will be accompanied by longstanding collaborators Louise Marshall and Sumudu Jayatilaka on vocals\, with a special guest appearance from Chris Difford\, the founding member of British rock group Squeeze. \nJools will be supported by a full afternoon programme of live jazz featuring a welcome return from saxophonist sensation YolanDa Brown. \nProceeding will be Ella Fitzgerald Reimagined\, a specially curated salute to the ‘First Lady of Song’\, featuring UK jazz royalty Elaine Delmar\, Ian Shaw and Jacqui Dankworth with their own interpretations of Ella’s most iconic numbers. \nAnd that’s not all; gifted jazz singer-songwriter Marvin Muoneké will be blessing us with his smooth bass-baritone vocals. \nOpening the afternoon will be a specially assembled band from Wandsworth-based music charity World Heart Beat. DESCRIPTION:The first major event of Wandsworth’s tenure as London’s Borough of Culture is set to be an electrifying celebration of dance and movement. Strictly Wandsworth is coming to Battersea Park on Saturday 26 April. \nDance is one of the most powerful forms of self-expression. Strictly Wandsworth will celebrate the powerful force of dance for mental and physical health\, connection\, and creativity. \nExpect show-stopping performances\, including the biggest dance spectacle the borough has ever seen\, bringing together 200 dancers from 22 local organisations. Created by world-renowned choreographer Jeanefer Jean-Charles (London 2012 Olympics)\, the event will feature various groups including Tavaziva Dance and London Children’s Ballet\, culminating in a mass dance finale led by Patience J ( accomplished dancer\, choreographer and TikTok star)\, where everyone can join in. \nThere will also be other workshops\, performances\, and interactive activities throughout the day. Designed for all ages\, abilities\, and interests; because no matter if you have two-left feet\, dance is for everyone to enjoy. \nMore information on the full programme of activities will be coming very soon\, as well as how to get your hands on free tickets. \nStrictly Wandsworth is a free event and will be open to all\, but tickets are limited so make sure you are signed up to our mailing list to be the first to receive information.
