From those Riverside roots\, it went on to conquer BBC Radio and then BBC Television as a hilarious and groundbreaking sketch show featuring a British Asian cast\, challenging and reshaping perceptions of British identity along the way. Together they will explore Helen Mirren’s extraordinary life and career — from her early years with the Royal Shakespeare Company to becoming one of the world’s most decorated stars. \nThe connection between Dame Helen and Riverside Studios runs deep. In 1979\, she starred at the venue to great critical acclaim in Peter Gill’s celebrated production of Measure for Measure. Since then she has accumulated an astonishing array of honours: an Academy Award for The Queen\, three BAFTAs\, six Emmy Awards\, three Golden Globes\, an Olivier Award\, a Tony Award\, and a Damehood.
