DESCRIPTION:Part of The Wandsworth Heritage Festival 2024 and organised by the Battersea Society and the Diocese of Southwark. \nDeaconess Isabella Gilmore 1842-1923 (née Morris\, sister of poet/designer William) was asked to set up a diaconate for women by the Bishop of Rochester when she was widowed and nursing in Guy’s Hospital. \nIt ceased in 1970 at Gilmore house\, where the plaque will be unveiled.
