SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - Gutter Brothers
DESCRIPTION:The Gutter Brothers emerged in the late 1980’s as a busking band based in London\, regulars on the Covent Garden street scene. \n\nThey released their first album ‘Isometric Boogie’ in 1988\, going on to release two more albums\, and writing the soundtrack music to ‘Fools & Horses’ Christmas special ‘Miami Twice’ in 1991. The band toured constantly in the UK\, Europe and the US\, sharing stages with the likes of Dr Feelgood\, Desmond Dekker\, Albert Lee\, Steve Harley\, Debbie Harry and Jools Holland. In 1993 the band split when lead singer Tony returned to live in his native New Orleans. \nThe original 1988 line-up of Tony Green (vocals)\, Steve Turner (bass)\, Jeff Walker (drums) and Chris Cawte (guitar) has reunited for a handful of UK shows on a roughly annual basis since 2003 following the death of founding member Dennis Johnson (tea-chest bass and lyrics). \nIn 2008 the band released ‘El Krusho’\, an album dedicated to Dennis’ memory which featured new songs composed using remaining lyrics written by him. A new recording of previously unreleased songs ‘Mother Primeval’ followed in 2014. \nThe Gutter Brothers return to celebrate more than 30 years of swampy rock ‘n’ roll history with a country style gumbo of great tunes\, rare funk grooves\, a slab of ska and a small pinch of metal to taste. \n\n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nGutter Brothers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

Her music explores themes of self-discovery\, heartbreak\, and resilience with her latest single\, Car Crash\, marking a bold new chapter in her musical journey. With grungier tones\, heavy guitar riffs\, and powerful vocals\, the track takes a departure from her signature sound\, showcasing Leona’s versatility and growth as an artist. \n\n\n\n\n\nTomos Newman\n\n\n\nTomos Newman\, an independent young folk Singer Songwriter from Pembrokeshire whose music is a mix of acoustic\, alternative folk with his own original twist. The musicians who have had a direct impact on his music are Ziggy Alberts\, Ben Howard\, Jack Johnson and Nick Mulvey. Tomos has just released his newest single ‘Lavender Fields’ and has lots more material on its way! Being from a beautiful part of Wales\, Tomos gets a lot of his inspiration from nature and being young\, going on adventures by the coast. Tomos’ music is guaranteed to leave you wanting more with sweet melodies and harmonies alongside his delicate guitar work. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDaphné Chenel\n\n\n\nDaphné Chenel is a French singer-songwriter. After releasing her first EP “Mue” in 2023\, a project infused with the air of Lisbon – the city in which she has spent the last three years – she returns with a new project with a more indie-folk aesthetic and brand-new songs. She will present it in an intimate setting at the Half Moon on April 28th\, don’t miss it! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nKit Davey\n\n\n\nMeet Kit Davey\, a burgeoning R&B and Neo-Soul singer-songwriter and pianist with a musical journey as diverse as his influences. Growing up in a musically inclined family\, he was surrounded by an eclectic mix of rock\, country\, soul\, blues\, jazz\, indie rock\, classical\, choral\, and opera. This rich musical backdrop shaped his deep appreciation for melody and storytelling\, sparking a passion that has defined his artistry. \nEncouraged by his family\, Kit began private voice and piano lessons at an early age\, developing a strong foundation in classical music. This training and platform led to performances in large-scale concerts across the UK\, international tours (with both choirs and jazz ensembles)\, and even multiple solo appearances at London’s prestigious Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. \nWhile studying music in London\, Kit formed a close creative bond with alt/pop artist Ciara Lea\, collaborating on singles like Cry and Stolen Sun. Though he began writing songs at 14\, his solo work has since embraced the warmth and groove of R&B and Soul. His sound is influenced by both classic and contemporary artists—drawing inspiration from legends like Stevie Wonder and The Eagles\, while also resonating with the modern sensibilities of Daniel Caesar\, Bruno Major\, and Mac Ayres. These influences bring a timeless yet fresh energy to his songwriting\, blending soul\, intricate harmonies and vocal textures\, and rich instrumentation. \nBeyond his solo work\, Kit contributes to Lisbon’s dynamic alt/pop scene and co-writes country-inspired songs with writers from Nashville and San Francisco. His first release came in 2018 with Tileyard Studios in London\, but he later chose to remove the project to refine his artistic direction. Now\, with a new partnership through AWAL\, he is preparing to release a six-track EP this spring\, marking a significant new chapter in his career. \nKit Davey’s music is an authentic and honest exploration of emotion\, life\, and connection. With his diverse background and extensive training\, he is carving out a unique space in R&B and Neo-Soul—offering a sound that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. \n\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - Stanley Dee - A Tribute to Steely Dan
DESCRIPTION:There are many ways to approach the music of Steely Dan. Music which means so much to those of us who appreciate a tightly crafted groove\, a memorable tune\, an intriguing chord progression and often a twisted story line. Bearing in mind the sheer quality of the musicians who played on the original recordings\, the scope of the task can seem daunting. For that reason\, you might reasonably expect a Steely Dan tribute band to have a somewhat serious manner….. \n\nBut not Stanley Dee! We love the music of Becker and Fagen\, and it makes us happy. Audiences can tell from the way some of us bounce around on stage\, and the way we all have large smiles plastered on our faces most of the time. This music is FUN! \nWhich is not to say that we treat the music lightly. This stuff is hard to do well\, and we pride ourselves on recreating the authentic sounds\, down to the details of the amazing solos and the intricate vocal harmonies. We’re all huge fans of the music itself\, and we know what our audiences want to hear. We’ve been at this since 2009\, and have racked up loads of gigs\, starting in our home area of South Herts\, but also (increasingly) going much further afield. If you’ve seen us\, you’ll know what we’re about\, and if you haven’t… it’s about time you checked us out. \nAuthentic sounds played with skill and enthusiasm. If you like Steely Dan\, you will love Stanley Dee! \n\n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nStanley Dee – A Tribute to Steely Dan\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - Pat McManus Band
DESCRIPTION:Led by the former Mamas Boys Guitarist and Songwriter\, Pat McManus can lay claim to being the last of the truly great Irish guitar heroes\, and with his rock solid rhythm section of Paul Faloon and Plunkett McComb\, The Pat McManus Band deliver one of the tightest\, rocking\, blues shows around. \n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nPat McManus Band\n\n\n\nGrowing up in a family steeped in traditional music\, Pat’s first instrument at the age of 4 years was the violin. By the age of 7 he was also playing the acoustic guitar and performing live with the family band. By 14 years Pat was ‘All Ireland Champion’ on the violin and was offered a place at the Royal School of Music\, but by 18 years he was seduced by rock ’n’ roll… and so he picked up the electric guitar. Affectionately known as the ‘Professor’\, Pat has been in recent years hailed in the press as one of the top 5 Irish guitarists. \nIn 1978 Pat and his brothers formed the short-lived ‘Pulse’. By 1979 the band’s name was changed to ‘Mama’s Boys’ and with Pat now also the songwriter for the band\, the rise to fame was rapid. With his two brothers John and Tommy\, ‘Mama’s Boys’ enjoyed a fifteen-year career with worldwide success and touring alongside many of the great rock and roll bands. The untimely death of Pat’s younger brother Tommy brought a close to the ‘Mama’s Boys’ days… and after a brief hiatus\, Pat and his brother John reinvented their sound and returned with their new band ‘Celtus’\, which was a mix of the brothers’ traditional and rock ’n’ roll past. The band were very quickly signed to Sony. Under the guidance of Muff Windwood and producer Rupert Hind\, the band produced several highly regarded and award-winning albums. \nIn 2001 Pat moved from London back to his native Fermanagh. He had felt he needed a break from music\, but that lasted all of a few months as soon he was playing\, recording and working with a variety of bands and musicians. In 2007 Pat finally formed his own solo band\, ‘The Pat McManus Band’\, and released his first solo album. The band have toured and toured for the past 17 years\, playing huge festivals\, tours and headlining shows. Within this time Pat has written and released 9 albums and 3 DVDs\, as well as songwriting for and performing on other artists’ albums. A new PMB live CD was released in July 2023. \nThe present line-up of the Pat McManus Band includes long-time member Paul Faloon on drums and Pat’s former co-producer and top session player Plunkett McComb on bass. \n…and so the story continues. \n\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - The Smyths
DESCRIPTION:For more than twenty years\, THE SMYTHS have brought the music of The Smiths back to life in the live arena across more than 900 shows in the UK\, Europe\, Australia and New Zealand as well as countless festivals including Glastonbury\, The Isle of Wight and Bestival. \n\nAcclaimed by Johnny Marr (on Radio 6) and Stephen Street (Smiths Producer)\, rather than employ silly props and clichéd visual tropes The Smyths focus on the live experience of a Smiths show\, imagining what The Smiths would sound like today after more than 40 years of playing the songs to several generations of fans; from the teens of then who are Grandparents now\, to their children and onto to the teens of today. \nThe music of The Smiths remains as fresh and important as it did at the time of it’s inception. The Smyths re-define what a tribute is\, caring less about the silly props choosing to focus on the experiential\, the fevered rush of a brilliant band playing the songs of a generation that reverberates and resonates today. \nFor anyone mourning the live absence of the original band\, The Smyths are the closest you’ll ever get to being there. \n\n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nThe Smyths\n\n\n\nAn outstandingly accurate and thrilling tribute to The Smiths\, capturing the band at their best\, live\, from 1982 – 1987. Now in their tenth year\, The Smyths are the UK’s longest-established tribute to the one of the greatest bands of all time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRuby Jean Clunie\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

Food served until 10pm. Doors open 7:30pm. \nIf you would like to perform at a future New Moon please apply via music@halfmoon.co.uk \n\n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nHeff Vansaint\n\n\n\n“A gifted songwriter and storyteller with 80s influences” – When The Horn Blows \n“Fuses old-school storytelling with a contemporary lo-fi indie sound” – The Queerness \n“Brilliantly blends elements of pop\, electronic\, and indie” – DIVA Magazine \n“Must-listen indie/bedroom pop” – Girl Gang Music \n“Aberdonian indie-pop auteur” – The Skinny \n“Brilliant” – Roddy Hart\, BBC ScotlandHef \nBorn and raised in Aberdeen\, Heff has been playing in bands since she was a teenager\, often alongside the raft of Scottish indie boys that flooded her native scene. Moving to London in her early 20s\, she formed an electro-pop duo that went on to amass a decent following\, before going solo to explore the more personal and reflective aspects of her creative output. As an artist\, VanSaints seeks to combine queer culture with themes that are universal and part of the human condition. \nCombining elements of pop\, electronic\, and indie with 80s influences\, VanSaint’s music traverses the liminal space between frank honesty and hopeful optimism\, with the songwriter interested in exploring environments that challenge fixed definitions\, exploring the inherent messiness of being human. \nNaming iconic songwriters such as Bruce Springsteen\, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young as her main influences\, she uses songwriting and storytelling as a prism through which to make sense of life’s experiences from her unique perspective\, drawing inspiration from her love of artists with an androgynous image and energy\, like The XX\, Frank Ocean\, St Vincent\, and of course greats like Prince and Bowie. \nWith previous releases spanning themes of unrequited love\, loneliness\, the cost of living crisis\, and navigating life as a creative person in London\, VanSaint channels her experiences as a young creative living through challenging times into her melancholy but hopeful material. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nWilliam Warren\n\n\n\nWilliam Warren is an indie rock singer-songwriter born and bred in the heart of Camden. Combining a crooning vulnerable voice and the energy of an MC owing to his earlier hip-hop roots\, Warren’s contemporary anthems are both danceable and gut-wrenching. Songs like ‘Winter Sleep’ and ‘Painter’s Son’ detail emotional pain\, struggle\, and bravery akin to the romance of The Smiths\, all with a back beat not dissimilar from 70s disco and Motown. His rise in the London live music scene is imminent. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBella Coupland\n\n\n\nBella Coupland is a 20 year old country singer songwriter from the North East\, currently living in London. Being “physically in the UK\, but mentally in Nashville”\, Bella has been raised on country her whole life. Her music is a blend of a traditional country sound with contemporary influences. Her debut single “Fool” comes out on the 7th March\, so stay tuned for new music! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTarian\n\n\n\nTarian\, which translated to ‘shield’\, is a Welsh songwriter and musician that blends a unique sound encompassing singer-songwriter traditions\, Hip Hop\, and emotive pop. His musical journey began in his childhood\, influenced by his Dad’s music collection and his own early band experiences. As a teenager\, Tarian found catharsis in both death metal and opera\, and after studying classical voice at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama\, he began honing his songwriting and production skills. Early projects had some success\, including support from BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 6\, but self doubt became an obstacle that prevented Tarian from releasing music officially. It wasn’t until 2020\, during the global lockdown\, that his breakthrough came. \nIn his bedroom in South Wales\, Tarian crafted the song ‘Half of Mine’\, which would eventually reach over 1.5 million streams after being reworked by UK rap duo Frankie Stew & Harvey Gunn. The track’s success marked the beginning of Tarian’s solo career under the label Good Times Co with several subsequent releases receiving international press support. Drawn to his authenticity\, Tarian has connected with millions of people through his TikTok account and earned himself an extremely loyal fanbase of close to 20 thousand followers. \nTarian’s music speaks to his experiences with mental health\, self-doubt\, and personal growth\, resonating with listeners who find solace in his heartfelt melodies and emotionally charged lyrics. With upcoming live shows and new music on the horizon\, Tarian is poised to continue connecting with audiences worldwide\, offering them a sense of unity through his songs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - Stipe - The R.E.M Tribute - Full Band Show
DESCRIPTION:R.E.M. remain one of the world’s most enigmatic stadium rock bands. With a string of peerless albums running through the 80s and 90s; one eye on the underground and one eye on the soaring chorus; it’s safe to say we will never see their like again. \n\nWhether it’s laying major festivals or appearing on the One Show\, performing for Michael Stipe himself\, Stipe are the definitive R.E.M. tribute – a complete 6 piece band\, and encyclopaedic knowledge of the back catalogue\, the boys from Athens’ legacy is in good hands. \n\n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nStipe – the R.E.M. Tribute\n\n\n\nR.E.M. by Stipe – the alt-rock awesomeness of R.E.M. recreated. As regular visitors to the festival scene\, leading venues and with gigs into Europe\, Stipe have earned the praise of “awesome” from R.E.M.’s own lead singer Michael Stipe. \nThis is the definitive tribute to one of the biggest sounds in rock and they’ve performed the songs of R.E.M. to thousands of people worldwide. R.E.M. built a towering back catalogue that reached from the addictive highs of Shiny Happy People down to the reflective darkness of Everybody Hurts\, covering all else in between. \nAn early R.E.M. album loaned to Stipe’s lead vocalist\, Richard Southern\, worked its magic and convinced him to make a first visit to see R.E.M. in concert. \n‘That was the best live performance. Ever.’ says Richard. ‘The music of R.E.M. left such an impression on myself that it will always be a part of my life.’ Platinum Al had this high praise for the band in January 2015: \n“Where this band succeeds is in the accuracy of the sound … the lead singer looks the part\, his voice is a fairly uncanny likeness of Michael Stipe’s …the other musicians also create a brilliant rendition of the songs\, fully convincing and delivered with confidence.” – Platinum Al Stipe do what they do as a team; six musicians who rehearse hard to recreate the R.E.M. sound that music fans deserve. They visit the hits and the gems taking every opportunity to perfect the songs. In performance Stipe make R.E.M.’s charismatic music their own.\nR.E.M. was one of the first alternative rock bands. Their signature was a changing and reactive sound\, from a guitar driven\, unforced and intuitive beginning\, through the game changing Losing My Religion and then onwards. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - Sam Outlaw + Hannah Aldridge
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nSam Outlaw was born in the Midwest\, grew up in California\, and now lives in Nashville. “Outlaw” is his mother’s maiden name. \nIn 2015\, Sam released his debut album “Angeleno\,” produced and performed by Ry Cooder and Joachim Cooder and featuring Gabe Witcher (Punch Brothers)\, Bo Koster (My Morning Jacket)\, and Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes). “Angeleno” garnered universal acclaim and multiple award nominations. In 2017\, Sam released his follow-up album\, “Tenderheart.” Also a critical success\, “Tenderheart” was heralded as one of the year’s best country albums and took home “International Song of the Year” at the UK Americana Awards in London. Subsequent years saw the release of “Popular Mechanics” and “Tenderheart”\, consolidating his reputation as one of the finest country singers and writers around. \nSam has toured extensively as a headlining artist at marquee festivals such as Stagecoach\, Pilgrimage Music Festival\, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Sam has also toured in support of beloved artists such as John Prine\, Kacey Musgraves\, Dwight Yoakam\, Clint Black\, Margo Price\, and Sheryl Crow. \nHannah Aldridge grew up on the muddy banks of Muscle Shoals—her birthright is music and Alabama. A reckoning between her coming-of-age in the South and a lifetime of trying to create an identity outside of it\, her songs strike a delicate balance between rebellion and self-discovery. Daughter of Muscle Shoals legend Walt Aldridge\, Hannah started her musical journey as a classically-trained pianist. It wasn’t until her early twenties that she first picked up a guitar and began using music as an outlet to grapple with her demons. With a voice equal parts gritty and melodic\, the emerging artist took to the road\, entertaining crowds in ten countries and three continents with her acclaimed debut album Razor Wire\, superb follow-up Gold Rush and Live in Black and White – a beautifully captured live album recorded in London\, followed by the ambitious\, cinematic Dream of America\, released in 2023. \nHannah Aldridge’s fierce Southern energy reaches through every speaker\, whether it’s in a dashboard doing 80 down I-65\, a rock club in Amsterdam or a Honky Tonk in her adopted hometown of Nashville. \n\n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nSam Outlaw\n\n\n\n\nHannah Aldridge\n\n\n\nWith every song\, Hannah Aldridge is facing down demons of a life once lived from substance abuse to failed relationships and scars from the lashes of the bible belt. \nRaised in the extremely religious State of Alabama\, Hannah has since young years felt an affinity to the darkness found in the Southern Gothic themes and has developed a fondness of writing songs with elements of horror brought on by dark thoughts of depression or hopelessness. Finding a calling in exploring these heavy-laden feelings and impulses that we all have\, but are typically afraid to indulge in she explains\,“The devil and darkness were always the boogeyman under the bed for me. It still is honestly. So that naturally weaves itself into a lot of songs. I find it extremely fun to sit and think of what type of song I would write for a particular scene in a movie or subjects that really scare me.” \nMixing her personal life and the sounds of her hometown\, Hannah takes influences from across the rock genre. Working with one foot in country music and the other in rock has given Aldridge a fresh kind of Southern Rock styled by Southern Gothic storytelling. The honesty she crafts into each track is offset by her stubborn\, even defiant\, nature\, which gives her music a hopeful silver lining. \nHannah is not only a daughter of the American south but also of the Muscle Shoals legend Walt Aldridge. She launched her career with her 2014 debut ‘Razor Wire’ in which she worked with The 400 Unit (Jason Isbell ) and recorded one of his songs on the album alongside Brad Pemberton of The Cardinals (Ryan Adams). The debut-album drew attention of music critics and sent her touring across the world\, the live scene really taking a hold of the singer early on seeing as over the last 7 years she’s played in over 10 different countries. Her second full- length album ‘Gold Rush’ features Sadler Vaden (Drivin n’ Cryin’ and Jason Isbell ) and was mixed and engineered by Allen Parker\, Chief Engineer for Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. \n\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - The Rollin Stoned
DESCRIPTION:Doors 8pm for 8.30pm Stage \nA Rock’n’Roll Circus is coming to town.. …everything seems to be ready…. …is everyone ready? \nA tribute to The Rolling Stones focusing on the early part of their career from 1964 – 1969 including ‘Jumping Jack Flash’\, ‘Paint It Black’\, ‘Not Fade Away’ and ‘Satisfaction’. \nWith a Rollin Stoned show\, the costumes are shamelessly camp gaudy and fab\, the instruments genuinely vintage and the wit irreverent. However while the tongue is never far from the cheek we make sure it is never to the detriment of the music. \nA typical two hour show includes not only all the classic crowd pleasing hits\, but is spiced with enough eclectic selections from the deeper recesses of Stones Album archives to satisfy the most demanding of “Buffs”\, all performed with the same vibrantly authentic attack and raw energy that characterised the original Stones shows in their prime. \nThey have been described by The Times as ‘better than the real thing’ and have been revered by both Stones fans for their authenticity and the real Stones who booked them for the band’s birthday. \n\n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nThe Rollin’ Stoned\n\n\n\nFor those who witnessed the Stones – Brian Jones et al – in their hey Day\, this is a chance to revisit lost youth\, for the rest of you\, now’s your chance to see what all the fuss was about. Named “Best Tribute Band” in the UK by The Stage Magazine “…. the nearest thing to the real article” The Times\, “…. about as true to the originals as you can get” and “Just like the real thing” enthused rock star photographer Gered Mankowitz. \nKeith Richards’ own mother\, Doris\, was kind enough to describe us as “outstanding” and fit to “stand in for the Stones” which is about as good an endorsement as any could wish. \nIt’s not just enthusiastic fans who rate The Rollin’ Stoned so highly\, it is the people in the know and those from the Stones’ inner circle. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n18+ after 7pm

SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - John Bramwell (I am Kloot)
DESCRIPTION:The former I Am Kloot vocalist\, songwriter and guitarist John Bramwell is back at the Half Moon with a Sunday afternoon show. \n“The UK’s finest export” – The New Yorker \n“Utterly compelling\, quite beautiful and frequently hilarious-“ – The Guardian \n“Great songs\, great voice\, the real thing” – The Sunday Times \nPlease note that this show is standing only \n\n\nLine Up\n\n\n\nJohn Bramwell (I am Kloot)\n\n\n\nJohn Harold Arnold Bramwell\, to give him his full name\, is perhaps best-known for his time as the songwriter and frontman of Manchester three-piece\, I Am Kloot. However\, he also possesses an enviable back catalogue as a solo artist and continues to work on new material under the guise of his latest band\, John Bramwell & The Full Harmonic Convergence. Bramwell’s first studio output appeared in 1989\, when he was performing and recording as Johnny Dangerously and entitled You Me & The Alarm Clock\, an album The Guardian referred to as one of the ‘greatest albums you’ve never heard.’ Following a stint as a television presenter and as a member of the band\, The Mouth\, Bramwell formed I Am Kloot\, with two members of The Mouth. They went on to record six studio albums\, including the Mercury-Prize nominated album\, Sky At Night. Since 2016\, Bramwell has reverted to being a solo artist and tours continuously\, around the UK and Europe. A home-recorded solo album\, Leave Alone the Empty Spaces appeared in 2018 and the follow-up\, a more expansive affair\, with a working title of The Light Fantastic\, is now scheduled for release in early 2021.
