Don’t miss out on this unique experience! \nMeet 10.20am at at Windmill Tea Rooms\, Wimbledon Common\, SW19 5NQ. \nFAQs: \n  \nWhat is forest bathing?\nIt is a mindful and sensory experience in forest and woods and surrounding nature. It is an immersive experience that leaves participants calm\, relaxed and with an improved sense of wellbeing. \n  \nIs forest bathing new?\nForest Bathing ‘Shinrin Yoku’ was developed in the early 1980s in Japan and has been fully integrated into their holistic health programmes. Of course\, indigenous people around the world have used nature as a source of maintaining good health and recovering from poor health for thousands of years. \nIs there any proof that it can really help me?\nThere is a lot of research on the benefits of forest bathing from Japan and the UK has 11 universities currently researching\, monitoring and publishing the positive impacts of forest bathing to support government and healthcare initiatives such as green social prescribing. \nWhat can I expect to gain from a forest bathing session?\nEveryone will enjoy their own experience\, but most participants report feelings of awe\, of wonder at the beauty of the trees\, plus increased wellbeing from being bathed in the phytoncides (chemicals) released by the trees\, and a sense of community from being part of a group. \nCan anyone take part in a forest bathing session?\nForest bathing is accessible to anyone who can enter the woods safely. If you have any mobility or health issues\, please get in touch and we can discuss. \nIs forest bathing safe?\nYes\, but remember\, sessions take place in nature\, so participants have to be conscious of their surroundings and treat nature with respect. A full risk assessment is carried out before each session. Additionally\, the weather is continually monitored for high winds and lightning etc. \nIs forest bathing suitable for children?\nYes\, and it is a great activity for groups such as schools or clubs. However\, some sessions are for adults or older teens only\, so do check before you book. \nWhat do I have to bring with me?\nBring a mat to lie on and a bottle of water. That’s all you need. Be sure also to dress for the weather – rainwear for example\, or a hat in summer. \nDo I have to remove any clothing?\nNo\, unless you feel particularly warm and want to e.g. remove your jacket. Temperatures can vary so we advise participants to wear layers \nDoes it involve being in water?\nNo\, despite its name it does not involve immersing yourself in water. \nDo sessions go ahead if it rains or in high winds?\nIn most cases yes. We don’t enter the woods if there is a chance of lightning\, but rain in itself is not a huge problem\, as we are under the tree canopy\, which provides some shelter\, and rain gives us the chance to have an extra dimension to our time together in the woods. Extreme winds would result in a session being postponed. \n

SUMMARY:Half Moon Music - MOLLY\, Naked Brunch and Alleya
DESCRIPTION:Molly\, Naked Brunch and Alleya at the Half Moon\n\nA night celebrating the best emerging talent from around London & Beyond. \n\n\nLINE UP\n\n\n\nMOLLY\n\n\n\nMolly is an indie alternative artist hailing from Nottingham\, now based in South London. Growing up with a musical Irish family\, Molly was surronded by the sounds of soul\, Motown\, and funk\, which deeply influenced her musical journey. With a distinctive sound that blends raw emotion and intricate melodies\, Molly leads a dynamic four-piece band that captivates audiences with their live performances. Recently\, she released her latest EP\, Lovesick\, which showcases her ability to craft deeply personal and evocative music. Molly continues to push the boundaries of the indie alternative scene\, connecting with fans through her authentic and powerful storytelling. \n\n\n\n\n\nNaked Brunch\n\n\n\nNaked Brunch are a four piece chamber pop band from London\, UK. \nHeavily influenced by classical music\, Naked Brunch experiment with wide dynamic variation and subtle tempo shifts in their songs. Lead by a guitarist and cellist who both sing vocals\, Ethan and Amelia’s juxtaposing vocal styles contribute to the music’s unique texture. \nOriginally meeting through a youth music service tour of Europe\, Ethan and Amelia started sharing demos online during the pandemic. The next few years saw Naked Brunch expand from a two piece folk duo to a sprawling 9 piece ensemble\, complete with saxophone and string quartet. \nThe release of Naked Brunch’s debut album Plague Dance this spring saw Naked Brunch settle on four key members\, including long time collaborators Ted J. Gibbs on bass and Theo Pedley on drums. All four members contribute compositionally and artistically to make Naked Brunch what it is today: one of the most interesting bands to come out of the London live scene since the pandemic. \n\n\n\n\n\nAlleya\n\n\n\nAlleya is an emerging artist known for her catchy tunes and relatable lyrics\, inspired by personal experiences. Her tracks have resonated on radio waves across the board. With vibrant energy and ambitious dreams\, Alleya is set to captivate audiences everywhere. \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n18+ after 7pm

SUMMARY:Putney walking tour - More than just a boat race
DESCRIPTION:A walking tour of Putney and Fulham along the river. During the stroll\, you’ll be taught about some of the history of the boat race and visit various places such as the Palace built for the Bishops of London and medieval churches. \n\nThis walk will be perfect for those who who want to go on a riverside stroll in London – as most of the time we will be venturing through a riverside park and along the banks of the River Thames \nFamous the world over with its association with the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race\, Putney and Fulham offers so much more in the way of history which very few people know much about. \nObviously\, we will hear of some of the history of the Boat Race and its association with Putney\, but the race also embodies its own brand of style and elitism. And this fits in with Putney which has attracted the rich and famous over the years. \nWe will see the Palace built for the Bishops of London as well as old medieval churches and almshouses. \nAnd the history will encompass such a wide variety of figures from history and contemporary times such as Thomas Cromwell\, Marc Bolan and Kermit the Frog!
