DESCRIPTION:The Wandsworth Prison Improvement Campaign (WPIC) will host the Governor of Wandsworth Prison\, Andy Davy\, as well as Adrian Usher\, the Prison and Probation Ombudsman; Gen Glaister\, the author and former prison officer; Natasha Porter\, CEO of Unlocked Graduates; and Errol McGlashan\, former prisoner\, award winning poet\, and performer. \nWPIC has accused HMP Wandsworth of providing poor medical treatment for residents; lacking a proper plan to deal with rats\, pigeons\, and cockroaches; having unreliable hot water\, heating\, and toilets; failing to provide prisoners with consistent to clothes\, underwear\, and showers; and denying regular access to books. WPIC submitted evidence to the House of Lords Justice and Home Affairs Committee last December. \n

Strictly Wandsworth is coming to Battersea Park on Saturday 26 April. \nDance is one of the most powerful forms of self-expression. Strictly Wandsworth will celebrate the powerful force of dance for mental and physical health\, connection\, and creativity. \nExpect show-stopping performances\, including the biggest dance spectacle the borough has ever seen\, bringing together 200 dancers from 22 local organisations. Created by world-renowned choreographer Jeanefer Jean-Charles (London 2012 Olympics)\, the event will feature various groups including Tavaziva Dance and London Children’s Ballet\, culminating in a mass dance finale led by Patience J ( accomplished dancer\, choreographer and TikTok star)\, where everyone can join in. \nThere will also be other workshops\, performances\, and interactive activities throughout the day. Designed for all ages\, abilities\, and interests; because no matter if you have two-left feet\, dance is for everyone to enjoy. \nMore information on the full programme of activities will be coming very soon\, as well as how to get your hands on free tickets. \nStrictly Wandsworth is a free event and will be open to all\, but tickets are limited so make sure you are signed up to our mailing list to be the first to receive information.
