Putney Heathrow Airspace Meeting

Putney residents concerned about Heathrow expansion are invited to a public meeting on the government’s draft airspace and noise plans, taking place at The Platt Christian Centre (home of Regenerate Rise) on Felsham Road, Putney, SW15, on Monday 13 July from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Organised by Putney MP, Fleur Anderson, she and the Putney Society will set out what it wants residents to push for, including protection of current respite periods, tighter noise limits if a third runway goes ahead, extended night flight restrictions, and steeper descents to keep planes higher for longer above Putney. Paul Beckford, policy director of the No 3rd Runway Coalition, is also due to speak.
The meeting comes ten days before a House of Commons Transport Committee deadline for written evidence on the plans, and ahead of the government’s own consultation, which closes on 1 September. Residents wanting to respond to either process can find guidance at the meeting.
The venue is close to Putney town centre, with East Putney and Putney Bridge tube stations, plus Putney rail station, all within easy reach, alongside numerous bus routes serving Felsham Road and the surrounding SW15 area.
Attending is likely to require a ticket via Eventbrite.
