Yes, it’s an AI-created image of a street party. Looks fun though

The flags are going up, the trestle tables are coming out, and the sound of wartime classics will soon echo down Putney’s streets. As the country commemorates the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, Putney is stepping up with one of the biggest local turnouts of street parties in London.

From the leafy avenues of Roehampton to the bustling terraces near the High Street, residents will be transforming their streets into vibrant, bunting-filled hubs of remembrance and celebration. With help from a special £1,000 council grant and waived road closure fees, the community is getting ready to honour the end of the Second World War in Europe in true 1945 style: with food, music, and neighbours coming together.

While each street party will bring its own flavour—whether quiet cuppas and chats or full-on singalongs and swing dancing—they’re united by a shared spirit of community and pride. This is Putney at its best: friendly, resilient, and ready for a good old-fashioned celebration.
