A man has been hit by a lorry on Putney High Street and rushed to hospital.
The incident happened around midday on Friday and happened as a lorry turned off the High Street and struck the pedestrian. The lorry driver stopped and has not been arrested. The High Street has been closed between Chelverton Road and Upper Richmond Road/the South Circular. The condition of the man is unknown.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.13 this afternoon to reports of person being hit by a lorry as it was pulling off from Putney High Street. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene. We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
Police were called at around 12.10pm on Friday, April 12, to a lorry in collision with a pedestrian in Putney High Street. The pedestrian – a man – has been taken to hospital.

Due to the road closure, seven bus routes have been diverted: 14, 39, 74, 85, 93, 424 and 430. Traffic is bad at the best of times but the closure has caused widespread back-ups in all directions.
Update 6pm: The High Street has now reopened.
